Why reading should by part of your daily routine

"The reading of all good books is like a conversation with the finest minds of past centuries." —Rene Descartes

Reading expands our knowledge and perspective in a way no other experience can. It allows us to glean insights without having to live the experience ourselves. We can quickly synthesize information, without perfoming hours of independednt research. This does not mean the rigors of indpendent research should be substituted with reading books, but rather supplemented.

Whether it be through audiobooks or hard copies, reading should be a part of everyone's daily routine. For the clinician, it is important to read both research and books. I have compiled a list of the most influential books I have read that have helped me in my career. I hope you find this list helpful for your clinical practice.
